Yunnan Reflection Part II:
Yunnan · A Place Where the Wind Knows Your Name
Photo taken in Lijiang — broken car beneath me, open sky above me, and a symbol that I can stand tall anywhere.
In life’s not-so-fancy moments, these questions become real:
How do we lift our own hearts? How do we steady our inner world when everything else feels heavy?
For me, I’ve always turned to writing, words, simple lines, that would lift me up
Yunnan’s landscape — mountains and sun, old roofs and temples, animals wandering freely. Calm, rustic, soft, and quietly vibrant. Just what I needed as I look to close this year ❤️
A Quiet Intention:
There was a moment of downtime in my life when I told myself: “From now, I will only let beautiful things into my eyes.” So I set a simple intention, one quiet intention that I could return to, on difficult days:
From now:
See beautiful things
Meet beautiful souls
Hold only beautiful thoughts
Slowly, nature steadied me.
Soul-like individuals crossed my path.
Beauty softened the way I think,
and the wind reorganised my heart gently, patiently.
The Practice of Inner Steadiness:
Looking back now, I understand something I didn’t before: Inner steadiness is intentional.
The more we practise gentleness with ourselves, the easier it becomes. The more we choose beauty, the more we learn to humour ourselves, the more naturally our hearts lean toward lightness. And with time, I mean real time, we do grow past the heaviness.
And as the wind continues to move, I will continue to move towards lightness
